Discontinued support for IE8 browser linked to sunset date of Windows XP
NetTeller, the system used by Citizens State Bank’s Internet Banking customers, will no longer support Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 8 (aka IE8) web browser as of June 26, 2014. Customers who use IE8 may still be able to log in to their Internet Banking accounts but will experience unusual activity in their interfaces the longer they continue to use the unsupported web browser. Using an unsupported web browser can also compromise your security.
Customers are encouraged to do the following:
- If you still rely on the old IE8 browser, download and install the newer IE11 browser from Microsoft’s website.
- You can also use an alternate browser that is compatible with the NetTeller Online Banking system. These include Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Opera.
- Links to all sites offering the most up-to-date versions of supported web browsers can be found at the bottom of our homepage.
The announcement regarding IE8 comes on the heels of Microsoft’s notification in April that they have discontinued all support for their widely-used but aging operating system, Windows XP. Any customers who are still using computers running Windows XP are urged to upgrade to a newer operating system, in order to avoid security and technical issues.
